I think that a lot of people are assuming at this point that she is adult Melissa, but I saw things like, shes an FBI agent, shes a relative of somebody, and they were all very interesting, good guesses.

After receiving a tape in the mail that contains audio of their frog scientist murder in the wilderness, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) tracked down the daughter of one such scientist, only to find that shes now married and has a family with Melissa, whom Shauna and her teammates believed was dead.

With a volatile situationship evolving between teen Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) and Melissa (Burgess) in the 90s timeline, their modern-day reunion is made all the more dramatic.
And as adult Melissa denies blackmailing the group, Shaunas animalistic side resurfaces, forcing her ex to eat a slice of her own flesh in the final moments of the episode.
