Paramount Pictures will launch the film stateside on May 23.
Cruise has a strong recent history with Cannes given thatTop Gun: Mavericklaunched at the festivalthree years ago.
Prior to that his last visit was in 1992 for the premiere of Ron HowardsFar And Away.
The film iconwas at CinemaCon last weekto show footage ofFinal Reckoningand helda moment of remembrancefor hislateTop Gunco-star Val Kilmer.
Juliette Binoche will presideover the Cannes Competition.
The festival runs May 13-24.
