That was not to be.
The Eagles defensive line sacked the usually-elusive Mahomes half-a-dozen times over the course of the game.
As a result, Kansas Citys vaunted offense had only 23 yards in the first half.
He completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and 72 yards on the ground.
That latter stat is the most by a QB in Super Bowl history.
Hurts was, appropriately, named Super Bowl MVP.
