Hot and dry weather has reduced moisture levels in vegetation across the fire area.
Atmospheric instability has caused the fire to remain active, even during the overnight hours.
Meanwhile, a heat wave is hammering Los Angeles County and is expected to last through Tuesday.
Temperatures could reach up to 110 degrees in some areas.
Those heat and dry, windy conditions also bring an elevated risk of wildfires, officials said.
