What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias.
A perception of non-independence.
Ending them is a principled decision, and its the right one.
According to NPR, more than 200,000 have cancelled their digital subscriptions since the decision was announced on Friday.
In his op ed, Bezos acknowledged the suspicion that arose on Friday.
But the fact is, I didnt know about the meeting beforehand.
Only my own principles can tip the balance from one to the other.
That was inadequate planning, and not some intentional strategy.
