The AFCI is a membership data pipe of film commissions, which marks its fiftieth anniversary this year.
Marnie Gee of the British Colombia Film Commission was elected AFCI Chair last year for a two-year term.
Its annual Cineposium will be held in Cincinnati this year, running 15-18 September.
Philpott confirmed the news of her departure.
