Production capabilities are improving rapidly in China and Toei wants to co-produce both animation and live-action with Chinese partners.

Tech upgrades are also on the cards at Toeis two studios and various post-production facilities in Tokyo and Kyoto.

All these developments can be seen as part of a changing corporate culture in Japan.
