The report states that there is substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl.
The Committee received credible testimony from Victim A herself, as well as multiple individuals corroborating the allegation.
Several of those witnesses have also testifiedunder oath before a federal grand jury and in a civil litigation.
Representative Gaetz denied the allegation but refused to testify under oath.
However, statutory rape is a strict liability crime.
The Committee does not do so lightly.
Gaetz has denied the allegations, and challenged the reports claim that his payments to women amounted to prostitution.

The committee concluded that the payments were likely in connection with sexual activity and/or drug use.
