From what I observed Satureday, Glaser is poised to be a big part of that.
Comedy fans watched her grow up on the celebrity roast circuit.
She sacked him repeatedly, along with his family and everyone else within her gaze, holding nothing back.

Glaser honed tonights material in more than 75 comedy club stops.
She wants to be topical and timely, dropping some jokes on topics that lost steam.
Since Glaser hopes to be Globes host for years to come, her decision seems wise.
DEADLINE:The list of turndowns for Globes hosts has been high in recent years.
Why you, and why now?
It really got me on some important peoples radars.
And I also wanted it.
Im like, who turnsthisdown?
And it turns out a lot of people turn down these hosting gigs.
you’ve got the option to get really bad press that can be hard to recover from.
I really have nothing to lose.
Most of my moneys made from touring, and that is going really great.
Its not like I need some studio to like me or put me in things.
Im only going to gain from this.
Im not messing around.
Ive run my set a million times at different clubs.
I have a writing team that has been just next level.
I just knew this wouldnt be a question of, will she do a good job?
Im going to work so hard for you.
DEADLINE:How far back does this desire go?
GLASER: Yeah, it was an event in my family to watch the Oscars.
We printed out ballots, guessed who was going to win each category.
It was a whole event.
And never in my wildest dreams did I think that I was going to host one of these shows.
I didnt even think I was going to become a stand-up comedian when I was a young girl.
It just wasnt a thing that was on my radar.
I just thought women became actresses or models or singers.
I just didnt see women as comedians.
Not that I wouldnt have wanted to before.
So I dont really have these lofty goals.
I kind of just look right in front of me, at what seems to be on the table.
After the Tom Brady roast, I knew those things would be on the table.
I knew that I was capable of doing them.
I dont know that I wouldve been felt that way before.
Also, I just dont think I had that name recognition that wouldve been deserving of it before.
I barely have it now, but its definitely a lot more than I had before the Brady Roast.
That was certainly his mind-set on the field.
It was way more work than Id ever put into anything in my life.
I have tried to repeat that cycle of work, this many months in advance.
DEADLINE:What did Bradys meticulous game prep teach you?
GLASER: I learned a lot about how I need to approach these big moments.
I didnt know how to work efficiently and to train efficiently, I would run myself ragged.
I would end up having a mental breakdown before them.
Tom Brady inspired me to be gentler on myself and flexible with things and allowing myself rest.
And not just beat myself up.
I realized, I know the process.
People are going to expect me to have that level of jokes, that speed in decision making.
For months after the roast, I just didnt want to do anything.
I didnt want to appear on any TV shows.
I dont think its possible, honestly.
GLASER: I dont think people really understood the work that went into [the roast].
Thats part of your job, to hide that part.
you’re able to be paired to that for the rest of your life.
And I think Ive just in the past month realized that people dont expect that all the time.
Ive let myself have little bit of space to not always be perfect.
This guy evolved into a terrific Oscar host.
Looking back at your resume, you took a turn onThe Masked Singer, andDancing with the Stars.
GLASER: I would just say yes to things that seemed fun.
That wasDancing With the StarsandThe Masked Singer.
So that was just like, okay, yeah, thats a no brainer, 100 percent.
I dont care what people think.
Im going to be dressed as a snowflake, anyway.
And thenDancing With the Stars, I only said yes to that because it terrified me so deeply.
Id never danced before and everything in me said, dont do this.
Youre going to be embarrassed.
I wish I was one of these people that was a master career planner.
Ill do this, and then it will lead to that.
I hosted theMTV Unscripted Awardsthree or four years ago.
I felt like I killed it.
And nothing really came from that.
I dont think anyone saw it.
And they did, way sooner than I even thought they would.
But before then, I really didnt dream that big.
I just wanted to be a comedian respected by my peers.
I wanted to work with people I love and I wanted to make a really good living doing comedy.
And I achieved that, 100 percent.
I never really thought Id reach a household name level.
So I just took things as they go, if something sounds fun.
I would doDancing With the Starsagain, tomorrow.
I dont think Im ever going to get too big to do something that sounds like a fun challenge.
I like this business because its fun.
I like having fun.
I just dont see what the point of doing any of this is if Im not having fun.
DEADLINE:Enough to maybe look ahead a year from now at an encore?
GLASER: I love it and I cant wait to do it year after year.
I dont want to do this again.
I hope they dont have another roast.
I hope they cant book another person because I dont want to go through this.
It is like giving birth.
You become more famous and people expect more of you.
But this time around I can honestly say Ive had a really good time.
DEADLINE:Your material at the Brady roast was savage and unsparingly hilarious.
Some are cuddly, but others seem pretty serious.
GLASER: I dont think any of them really want to, or can take it.
And I made some really crazy jokes for 8 a.m.
I heard that she was laughing during it and they all had tears streaming down their faces.
And so that was a really good sign to me.
Theyve had a sense of humor about it since.
I think theyre primed to have a sense of humor about themselves more than we expect.
DEADLINE:How have you handled that?
GLASER: Well, Ill just ask their permission.
It hasnt gotten to that yet.
And we can both laugh at ourselves because I think thats what the viewers at home want.
So much about celebrities is that they think theyre better than everyone.
Im not going to do any joke that I would ever think would elicit that reaction.
But I am not avoiding people.
A mean mug from Harrison Ford is comedic, right?
So thats something Im anticipating.
How can I get Harrison Ford to just stare me down?
DEADLINE:Kind of like having Clint Eastwood tell you to get off his lawn?
GLASER: Yes, yes.
That doesnt make them look stupid, and that is not my intent.
GLASER: Ricky was well known by the industry by the time he want at it that hard.
It was his last time doing the Globes when he did the monologue that we really quote the most.
He knew he wasnt doing it again and this was hisJerry Maguiref*ck-you moment.
Im on my way in.
They worked really hard to get there.
They are on a different level than me.
Its not what Id want to do, and it would not strike the right tone.
It would set me up for failure.
Because theyre not signing up to be roasted.
Theyre not getting paid $25 million like Tom Brady did to be told the things he got told.
