Producers of theBroadwayhitStereophonichave settled a lawsuit brought by a former sound engineer and producer of Fleetwood Mac who claimed the production used material from his memoir without authorization, specifically in the plays depiction of a Mac-like 1970s rock band recording aRumours-like album.
In a one-page joint motion filed today in United States Southern District Court of New York (read ithere), the two sides indicated that they had resolved the dispute in principle and would have a finalized written settlement before the end of the month.

The suit was filed in October by former Fleetwood Mac producer Ken Caillat and Steven Stiefel, Caillats co-author on the 2012 memoirMaking Rumours, alleging thatStereophonicplaywright David Adjmi had based certain incidents in the play on material from the memoir.
Adjmi has long insisted that while the Tony-winningStereophonicwas partially inspired by Fleetwood Macs famous history, it is a work of fiction.

Todays court filing lists Caillat and Stiefel as plaintiffs and, as defendants,Stereophonicproducers Seaview Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Linden Productions, Playwrights Horizons, The Shubert Organization, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Ashley Melone and Nick Mills.
