Craig Melvinwill become the new co-anchor of NBCsToday, following the departure ofHoda Kotbin January.
The announcement was made on this mornings broadcast.
Kotbs final day on the show will be on Jan. 10, and Melvin will start on Jan. 13.

Melvin became a news anchor ofTodayin 2018 and co-host of3rd Hour of Todaythe following year.
Kotb and Guthrie became the first all-female team to helm the show.

Melvin said, I am beyond excited and grateful.
Ive enjoyed just a lifetime of blessings and this is the latest in a long line of blessings.
Melvin, 45, started his career at NBCs affiliate in Columbia, SC, his hometown.
And he does it without ever losing that Southern charm.
Melvin will continue to co-anchor3rd Hour of Todaywith Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones.
