DEADLINE:You are an executive producer onHowl, what sparked your interest?

JANE GOODALL:What captured my interest was that Im horrified at the way wolves are portrayed.

Theyre treated like vermin, but theyre so beautiful.

Have you seen him work?

What did that teach you about how films can change attitudes?

It wasnt my words so much as Hugos film that brought my work to life.

After that, I worked with Hugo on a number of other films, and Ive watched many films.

Certainly films can change the way people perceive an animal that they didnt know anything about before.

Is it hard to remain hopeful given the situation in the real world?

JANE GOODALL:People are committing suicide because theyve lost hope.

We need that, we must have hope.

DEADLINE:You mention Leonardo DiCaprio who is also an executive producer onHowl.

What is the connection between you two?

JANE GOODALL:We have met a few times, and hes introduced me to some of his friends.

We email from time-to-time.

DEADLINE:What will your involvement be withHowlas the project comes together?

JANE GOODALL:Im going to go and watch the animals being trained and meet the wolf whisperer.

And, of course, Ill be shown the film as we go along.

They found the one with exactly the right personality, and then started searching for a double.

They found one that was so identical that we think they may be brothers.

Ive begged them to do the DNA testing quickly.
