It was pretty much the weekend we were putting out the series.

It all came together as the show was going out.

We talked about shooting it in Romania but then ended up pivoting to England, says Harper.
Warners had stages open.
On didTop Gun: Maverick, we shot in L.A., because the jets were there.
Independent of Burton, Harper is also balancing a number of other development and production plates.
Quizzed on the possibility, Harper says its not out of the question: Its a big theatrical film.
Its being released in the summer so it could go.
Its not an independent arts film but its very much David Robert Mitchell and his DNA.
I read a lot of books from every country, not just the States.
Im kind of do it the old school way, he says.
I have the best of what both worlds, he says.
Im independent and am able to bounce around.
Sometimes I develop stuff from the ground up, like with Tim on this one [Beetlejuice Beetlejuice].
Its a really great point where Im at right now, and Im happy.
