UPDATED:American Airlinesflights are moving again after a technical issue prompted a nationwide ground stop earlier today.
A vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning, American said in a statement.
That issue has been resolved and flights have resumed.

We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience this morning, the statement added.
The ground stop lasted about an hour.
CNN first reported the stop citing an advisory notice from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
TravelingChristmaspassengers began sharing complaints about delays and diversions on social media early Tuesday morning.
This isnt the first time a nationwide airline has experienced acute technical issues during the busy holiday period.
The airline was fined a record $140m by the U.S. government in 2023.
